The Story of Us

My husband Cameron and I recently moved back to our hometown of Sioux Falls, South Dakota after being on the east coast for the last two years. While being away was an awesome opportunity and adventure, being away from our family was difficult at times. This summer we had the pleasure of being back with our families, and it was the first time Cameron and I lived in the same city with two of his sisters and a brother-in-law. It's been so fun getting to spend more time with them and celebrate the big and little things like a 21st birthday and the announcement of a new niece or nephew on the way. My sister-in-law, Allie, is an amazing photographer and she so kindly offered to take photos of Cameron and I together. I thought this would be a good opportunity to share a little bit more about our story.

Ours was a classic tale...

Boy meets girl in coffee shop. Girl was smitten. They both lived happily ever after. True, this was the way it happened, but we all know life is a little more complicated than that.

Let's start from the beginning. Back in 2009, I worked with a cute boy (Cameron) at the local Dunn Brothers Coffee, and although we did like each other, we decided it was best to remain friends (for the time-being). I went off to school in Minneapolis to pursue a degree in Apparel Design at the University of Minnesota, while Cameron stayed in South Dakota and studied English and Theology at the University of Sioux Falls. Although we were apart, we remained good friends. Whenever I was home, I made it a point to see Cameron. And every time I saw him, our affections grew.

One crisp fall evening, Cameron sat me down and asked me, "Have you ever wondered, like, why not?" And so commenced the beginning of Cameron and Jenny - a couple.

6 months later, we went from dating to engaged, and on December 27th, 2014, we became husband and wife, united as one in Christ.

We've been married for 3.5 years now, moved across the country and back, explored the east coast and parts of Europe, brought home a kitten, and still my favorite moments with him are the moments in which we can simply be together.
